GetFish
Hailing from the next generation of one of Sydney’s most established fishmongering families, GetFish.com.au modernised fish trade in New South Wales by allowing customers to place their orders online and have fresh seafood delivered straight to their doorstep.
When it launched in 2017, it was the first of its kind and it took off almost instantaneously. It came as no surprise that others took notice and launched their own versions of a seafood delivery service.
GetFish came to us in the middle of the pandemic with the goal of increasing and scaling brand awareness and sales. They were the perfect example of what we would describe as a company that is perfectly primed for success and they didn’t even know it. They had all the operational pieces but they were lacking a front-end engine to scale their business.
Nothing less than a 360-degree e-commerce growth engineering was needed to rapidly scale GetFish to the level of profitability that they wanted.
We started with a full customer data analysis to derive optimisation insights. No stone was left unturned – we scrutinised customer behaviour, purchase history, repurchase rate and lifetime value. We used the data as a launching pad to engineer a core driver to meet the company’s objective within a specified time frame. The primary focus was new customer acquisition.
Based on the insights, we came up with strong front-end offers that we launched on Facebook and Google Adwords (plus more traffic sources to come). Rapid-fire testing was done and the offers that were working were aggressively scaled while results were monitored closely.
As a second phase strategy, we wanted to establish GetFish to permanently become a better business. We used this period of rapid growth to set up email automation sequences through Klaviyo integration to deliver strategic behaviour-based offers. This means promoting the right product and the right offers to the right customers at the right time. This was coupled with optimising their website checkout experience to increase conversion rates and boost average cart value.
These simultaneous strategies and optimisation initiatives paint a full-funnel, 360-degree, multi-faceted e-commerce growth engineering that xAgency executed within a quick turnaround time.
I never expected a 512% growth in 3 weeks, let alone that we would continue sustained growth. The business we are today and will be in the next couple of months is night and day, not even recognisable. Understanding our data and customer behavior with xAgency has been the key to our growth and scale, they are doing an incredible job.

In a short period of eight weeks, GetFish achieved a record-setting and record-breaking period in terms of sales, posting a 1,000% increase in revenue. It’s now on the cusp of becoming a consistent multi-seven-figure per month business. Sales conversion rate also jumped by 46%.
As of the time of publishing this case study, growth continues to scale.
